At Moffitt Cancer Center, we make it easy for patients with thymoma to connect with a specialist through our Thoracic Oncology Program. Going one step further, we give our patients the advantage of being able to consult with several experienced thymoma doctors, each of whom is extensively trained in a different aspect of diagnosis and treatment.
Patients who come to Moffit without a confirmed diagnosis – or seeking a second opinion – first receive a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. This is facilitated by our radiologists (doctors who read imaging scans) and pathologists (doctors who analyze tissue samples). The information provided here serves as a starting point for our individualized treatment plans.
At Moffitt, we use evidence-based medicine to identify the therapies that offer the most promise, then pair each patient with the oncologist who has the most experience in the specific therapy required. For instance:
Each patient’s thymoma specialist works hand-in-hand with a team of supportive care providers and oncology nurses to ensure the best possible quality of life. And, no referral is necessary to plan a visit. To schedule a consultation with a thymoma specialist at Moffitt, call 1-888-663-3488 or submit a new patient registration form online.
